Kangen Water is alkaline ionised water produced by Enagic's electrolysis machines. The machine passes tap water through an electrolysis process, separating it into alkaline and acidic water. The alkaline water — called Kangen Water — is rich in molecular hydrogen and antioxidants, and is popular among for daily hydration and overall wellness.

Not exactly. While Kangen Water is alkaline, not all alkaline water is Kangen Water. Regular alkaline water is made by adding minerals. Kangen Water is produced through a process called electrolysis, which also creates molecular hydrogen — an antioxidant that regular alkaline water does not contain.

Electrolyzed Reduced Water (ERW) is scientific name for Kangen Water. "Reduced" refers to its ability to reduce oxidation in the body — it acts as an antioxidant. ERW is the scientific term used in research and medical literature, while "Kangen Water" is the brand name used by Enagic.

Enagic machines produce water at multiple pH levels for different uses — typically ranging from pH 2.5 (strong acidic, for sanitising) up to pH 11.5 (strong alkaline, for cleaning).
